Without guidance the edge depends on the hand: the chamfer varies in width, the angle tilts, the edge becomes wavy. On a memorial that is viewed from close up for decades, that stays visible.
Fine streaks in the polish are immediately visible on an exposed edge – whether chamfer, rounded or square edge, along its whole length.
Dry grinding of granite produces fine dust containing quartz. The Contour Cat works only with water supply, from inside and outside – the dust stays in the slurry.
The Contour Cat rests on the surface with its felt-lined base plate, the height is continuously adjustable up to 25 mm, the grinding height is up to 60 mm. Use the coarse Cyli cylinders G50 and G100 to pre-mill the edge and remove chips. The Contour Cat also takes profile cutters up to Ø 118 mm for a chamfer or rounding.
The GADIA Cyli Set for granite and marble contains the whole sequence: G50, G100, R200, R400, R800, R1500, R3000 and polisher. It fits the Contour Cat KS 80 and KS 80 BL with the GADIA Oscillator or GADIA RS grinding head.
The patented GADIA Oscillator grinding head adds a vertical stroke to the rotation – for streak-free, high-quality visible edges. The Contour Cat KS 80 controls the speed in 7 settings A–G, the KS 80 BL in 6 settings 1–6.
For square 90° edges on cover and grave slabs, edge polishers guide the tool on an aluminium base plate: KP80 for slab thicknesses up to 30 mm, KP100 up to 50 mm. The Polifox KP works wet, the Genius KP dry; felt pad for delicate surfaces, velcro plastic plate for rough ones.

The KP80 and KP100 edge polishers are built for slab thicknesses up to 30 and 50 mm – i.e. for grave and cover slabs. On thick gravestones, work the edge with the Contour Cat (grinding height up to 60 mm) and the flanks with a wet polisher such as the Polifox 900.
The Contour Cat is designed for edge milling, grinding, polishing and profiling and takes profile cutters up to Ø 118 mm. The tool determines the profile.
The Contour Cat and Polifox KP work only with water supply, with a PRCD safety switch (DI) or CEE plug for the isolating transformer. The Genius KP polishes dry – for places where water must not go.
